Incorporating Quick Disconnect (QD) Fittings allows you to lengthen, shorten, and clean your tubing quickly, and easily. Made from Acetal (POM) Plastic, with EPDM O-Rings.
When connected liquid is allowed to pass through the fitting. When disconnected the valve automatically closes to prevent odor and liquid from passing through the fitting.
Another benefit is that it allows your tubing to rotate at the fitting which prevents the tubing from twisting up your urostomy pouch when you move.
We pair the 3/8 inch fittings with 5/16 inch tubing to give a secure seal on the hose barb connection without having to use tubing clamps.
To use these, you will simply insert this fitting into the female QD fitting. The two connectors will "click" into place. To remove, simply press the button and pull the fittings apart.
I have been using these for two years now and they work remarkably well. I use them on my urinary night urinary drainage bag as well as on my travel urinary drainage bag.
